Most campaigns fail
2/3rds of all crowdfunding campaigns end unsuccessfully, and that number grows by the day. There are simply too many campaigns to keep track of and backers are tired of spending their hard-earned cash on missed deadlines and false promises.

Impractical for the
average person
Crowdfunding isn’t practical for most people. If you run a rewards-based campaign, you have to spend all of your time on distracting tasks like making a video, designing a t-shirt, and coming up with stretch goals. If you run a donation-based campaign, you have to beg your friends and family for donations. Neither option is mainstream.

Geographic

Crowdfunding today is highly segmented by geography; different countries have their own platforms and they all transact in fiat currencies with global banking restrictions. This fragmentation means quality backers are excluded from investing in quality campaigns.

The rich get
richer
It’s hard for the small guy (or gal) to get noticed on mega-platforms. The vast majority of press and funding attention goes to the top 1% of projects, which often have insider connections or corporate resources behind them.

WHIRL allows only a limited number of campaigns to raise money at one time, maximizing their fundraising potential. Campaigns are chosen by a fair and transparent queuing system

You can donate to campaigns directly with crypto or fiat. In return, you’ll receive 7 karma points for every dollar you spend. If you own WHIRL’s cryptocurrency, WRL, you’ll earn 10 karma per dollar. (Supporting the campaign with partner crypto, like KICK, will earn you 8.5 karma per dollar.) If you donate to a campaign from a featured nonprofit or charitable organization, you earn a bonus to karma.

Points
Once you reach 500 karma, you’re eligible to submit a campaign of your own. Tell WHIRL more about your campaign and fill out a KYC form. A moderator will review the campaign and, if it complies with site guidelines, they’ll approve it and place it on WHIRL crowdfunding platform.
Raise funds for your
personal needs
Once your campaign has finished fundraising, your karma resets and the next campaign goes live. Now that you’ve had a successful raise, you’ll be excited to support others and immediately begin to work your way back to a new campaign. WHIRL anticipates that 90% of campaign creators will immediately begin the process anew.

When you contribute to a campaign, you’re instantly rewarded with karma points. When it’s your turn to create a campaign, your karma points determine and how much you can raise. WHIRL’s give-and-take economy is a new way to raise money that eliminates fraud and removes the need to ship rewards, take out expensive loans, or ask friends and family for donations.

What is WHIRL?
WHIRL is a socially driven, “pay it forward” crowdfunding platform that’s built on the blockchain.
How is WHIRL different from Kickstarter, GoFundMe, etc?
WHIRL is unique in many ways, but here are three major differences: (1) We limit the number of campaigns that can raise money at one time and prioritize them using a fair and transparent queuing system. (2) You can only create a campaign after you’ve contributed to others. And (3) You can transact with cryptocurrency, making WHIRL a truly global platform.

How long has WHIRL been in development?
Well over a year, with parts of its technology being developed for three years.
Does WHIRL have an MVP (Minimum Viable Product)?
Unlike other blockchain projects, WHIRL isn’t empty, future hype; it’s working today!
Do I need to be a programmer to use WHIRL?
No! While WHIRL uses blockchain technology, it is easy enough for anyone to use, regardless of coding skill. This was important to us because we want WHIRL to be accessible by the widest possible audience around the world.
Where is WHIRL incorporated?
After assessing multiple jurisdictions, WHIRL decided upon Malta for its corporate headquarters. Malta is rapidly becoming the world’s cryptocurrency hub; it has a pro-crypto government and is home to many high-profile blockchain companies.
Is WHIRL a ponzi or pyramid scheme?
No. Given the nature and history of some crypto projects (e.g. Bitconnect), WHIRL’s give-and-take structure might be mistaken for a ponzi scheme or MLM pyramid. This is not the case. To begin with, WHIRL’s hierarchy is dynamic. Once a member rises to the top and completes a campaign, they immediately reset back to the bottom and begin anew. Ponzi schemes and MLM pyramids maintain a fixed hierarchy, which swells and eventually implodes. WHIRL doesn’t promise limitless fundraising either: campaigns are capped based on the amount you’ve contributed to others. There are many other differences, but those are two major ones. WHIRL is building a sustainable fundraising economy; it is not promising get-rich-quick results.
